Heckuva job, Douggie!

Heard on NPR's Morning Edition this morning.

(Steve Inskeep) Now let’s clarify a statement heard in our profile of a former Bush administration official. We replayed tape of the TV satirist Stephen Colbert about pre-war intelligence on Iraq.

(Stephen Colbert) A new report by the Pentagon’s Inspector General says that intelligence linking to Iraq and Al-Qaeda was manipulated by the administration, specifically by the former under secretary of defense, Douglas Feith.

(Steve Inskeep) Mr. Feith wrote us to say that the Pentagon report did not say that intelligence was quote manipulated; rather the Pentagon did find that Feith’s office produced quote alternative intelligence assessments in a manner that was quote inappropriate.

Thanks for the clarification, Douggie!.
