As I was logging into Yahoo! mail, the following headlines caught my eye.

• Bush Appoints Bolton, Bypassing Senate (AP)
• Fear Over U.S.-Born Extremists Is Brewing (LA Times)

For a dizzy moment, I thought the two news items were related.
